Day 71 update

I found another 2 shed snakeskins, one on the roof, above my grow.... going down onto the same drainpipe as the last one.... but this was well over 1.5metres long, and quite fat as well...... plus I found another skin on the deck a metre from the door...... I have a shit load of snakes, all wanting to keep warm in the glow of my room..... SHIT !!!

Anyway........

All is well here, the girls are all well into flower, but have different finishing times due to the training early on in veg adding a couple of weeks to BAM2 and TD.
TD is advertised as a 70 day finish, and BAM is 75 days. BUT as you might remember, I got mixed up naming the plants when I sowed the seeds  , and I reckon BAM1 is actually the TD, which would explain why she is much more advanced than the BAMs. They are still on a base nutrient mix of House and Garden Coco nutes, with Roots Excellurator, Multizyme and Bud XL, all delivered by the Blumats, and I also handwater with the nutrient soup plus molasses and either PK 13/14 (Top Booster) or Top Shooter, depending where they are at the moment.

Here is BAM1 (even though I think she is TD, I'm gonna stick with the original name till harvest).... she's a big girl, just over a metre tall and wide, with loads of big fat colas. Mid way through the grow, I snapped the main cola almost completely off, but managed to splint her in place, the main cola kept growing but the side branches must have thought I'd topped her and so pushed out bigger lateral colas?
She's been taking Top Shooter at 1ml/L but I neglected to bring the EC back down to 1.6.... instead hitting 1.8 for a week, so the leaves got a bit cooked, and the trichome production was delayed, but I fixed that and all is well again. Her buds are getting quite heavy, I have 8 on yoyos to stop them falling over lol

On day 73, I got fed up with the brown leaves and all the fan leaves getting in the way, so I went on a trimming spree...

day 73 BAM1-1.JPG
and she now looks a lot better, with more airflow for the buds in the last couple of weeks.

BAM2 was kind of mainlined in a succesful attempt to control some sort of bug that was eating the leaves, I was pretty agressive with the trimming and topping, putting her back at least 2 weeks, but she's looking great now... plenty of 'main stems' all stretched nicely, ready to bulk out. She's on PK13/14 and molasses for a week, and will have the tent all to herself for at least 2 weeks to finish off. :P

day 71 BAM2-3.JPG
BAM2 a bit closer.

TD (or is she BAM1?) is in 2nd place in terms of finishing, still a few weeks to go, but her buds are developing well. She's just under 70cm tall and is on Top Shooter at 0.5ml/L, and I am making sure to reduce the EC back down to 1.6 to avoid burning her up.

day 71 TD1.JPG
TD day 71

But the buds on TD are nice and frosty, so I think that's why BAM1 was late in frosting, because I had the EC too high with my hand feeds.

day 71 TDbud1.JPG
TD bud

I also gave her a bit of trimming as her fan leaves have always been a problem, combined with lack of stretch, meant the buds were finding it hard to poke through....

day 73 TD3.JPG
TD day 73

I'm gonna run BAM1 for another week before considering a 7 day flush, which will make her 86 days.... we shall see, she looks like she has more to come, 95% of her pistils are white and new bud growth is visible on a daily basis.

Finally, with you lot off to the Dam recently making me jealous.... this is what we have lined up for later in the year.... I went in '92 and it was mental, with joint rolling competitions, tasting sessions, street parade with a 50ft long lit joint while people were throwing joints into the crowd!

Thanks for checking in, more soon.

Day 80 update

Greetings from down here, where we've had some lovely hot sunny days.... but rain due all next week, that should bring ambient temps down from the mid 30s to the mid 20's..... much better for this stage in the game. Unfortunately, humidity is in the 60-80% region.

2 out of 6 of my Helios 6 LED clusters stopped working, so I called LED Hyroponics, and amazingly I was in posession of replacement components after just 7 days! They took about 5 minutes to fit and I was on my way again. A big THANK YOU mate! I repeat from before, I'm just a customer!

BAM1 is close to finishing, she is ripening nicely, with 1 big main cola over 20 chunky side colas, all around the thickness of a can of Beam and Dry.

I started the 7 day flush with 0 EC rainwater, and she should be ready for an Easter Sunday chop

She has some good trich coverage, after an initial scare.

all nice and milky ;)

BAM2 is building at least 10 nice long colas, after being kind of mainlined early on in the grow. She will finish last, I reckon she still has at least 3-4 weeks in her.

Finally TD.... she is flowering nicely, dense compact buds covered in trichomes. She doesn't have the longest colas in the world, but they are gonna be good.

DAY 80 TD TRICHS 1.JPG

DAY 80 TD TRICHS 2.JPG
all milky, but she has a couple of weeks left in her.

BAM2 and TD are on an EC 1.2 feed with additives (Roots Excellurator, Drip Clean, Bud XL, Multizyme, Top Shooter) bringing it upto EC 1.6.

I continue to hand feed the nute soup with molasses 3 times a day as well as providing on demand drip feed with the Blumats.

Thanks for taking a look around, fancy another smoke?

She's pretty much done, but I will keep going for another couple of weeks, see if she fattens up a bit more. There's certainly still some growth going on, and as I showed in the previous post, the trichs are already milky.

Cheers for dropping by, Gonna crop the BAM1 (or is she TD???) tonight during the Hammers game. More soon.

Cheers man, beenup 2nights chopping the 1st one.....she's definately Think Different, not BAM1, as she leaves a lovely pine smell on my fingers while manicuring the buds. Also the DP website shows some pics of TD, and mine had similar buds, with loads and loads of small leaves poking through the flowers.

The plant I labelled TD, still growing in the tent is unmistakably BAM as it has that lovely fruity smell, I've spread both remaining plants out with stakes, and given them more room to fill out..... TD, now is BAM1 and is close to starting her 7 day flush, maybe another week, and BAM2 is producing some nice big colas!

Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking ganja farm!

Fucking hell is all I can say, this place is a fucking snakepit.... one or two, I can just about handle, but there's SO MANY BLOODY SNAKES here, where is Samuel L Jackson and his hard arsed tactics when you need them?

I popped out the other evening with my daughter, we're in a rural location, so it's very dark at night.... driving along the gravel driveway to get to the main road, when I saw on the drivers side, what looked like a lizard tailcoming out of the grass. I stopped, and we both looked out the window at what it was.... after a minute, it slowly moved, onto the road.... a fucking great big snake, around 6ft plus..... and not scared at all of the 1.5 tonnes of black cat bearing down on it, lights blazing.

snake.jpg
head is on the left.

...at first I thought it was a carpet python, but I'm not sure now..... that head is small and pointy, whereas a python would have a head the size of my fist.

Plus pythons are reasonably timid, they piss off at the first sign of vibrations, this fucker just lay there, cool as fuck.

Eastern Brown Snake is my next guess, way more dangerous.... number 2 on the killer list I think! They have a wide variety of markings, not just plain brown....

I did think about running the fucker over, but I heard stories of snakes surviving this kind of treatment, getting under the car and either getting in or attacking the driver when they got out of the vehicle..... it's pitch black, and I'm wearing thongs (flip flops to you and I), and my daughter would be at risk too.

We took the stupid / sensible option (delete as appropriate), and admired the amazing sight, as it pissed off up the hill and away from our gaff. The laid back hippy lifestyle of this region is rubbing off on me.

Anyway, I must get back to my nightly routine of checking my plants, watching TV, smoking Chronic, and of course, picking up my torch, checking my machette and looking out the open door every 45 seconds. :?
