After a restless night worrying about BAM2, I decided to take action, and so I did a bit of light supercropping to her main stems, so here's how she looks now.....

I'm sure she'll benefit from this in the long run. I plan to top each main stem and once they get established, trim away everything underneath and train a canopy..... a kind of mainlining / scrog hybrid

There was lots of lush growth on BAM2, she bounced back nicely from the bondage session.
Yesterday, I decided to top one of the stems, and removed all growth except the tops on all the other supercropped stems....I saw 3-4 tiny tiny little creamy white bugs.... absolutely miniscule.... on 3 leaves, each of those leaves had a couple of holes in it, so I'm kind of glad I did so much chopping.... with any luck I've cut the bastards out.

This morning, there was good growth again, so I topped a few more stems.

Everything's looking healthy. I will top all the other BAM2 stems as and when they get to the same stage as the stem I topped today.

Here's how they were last night.... only one topped here, but more pics maybe tomorrow, to show the progress. I'm aiming to top the lower stems at node 5, middle stems at node 4 and upper stems at node 3.

This evening, 24 hours after the trimming session, there was no evidence at all of any holes in the leaves.... hopefully the insect problem has been nipped in the bud

cheers mate.... easy to get carried away though :?
I can't believe we're at week 6 already!!! :o

Day 36 (to be precise)

I have been playing around with the girls this week, mainlining BAM2, supercropping BAM1 and doing LST on TD. As a result, they are nowhere as big as the plants in my previous grow.... at this stage. I hope they will recover and rebound with great vigour.

The tips of BAM1 just started to burn a little when I upped the EC to 1.6 earlier in the week, so I scaled it back to 1.5..... the others didn't react badly at all.

Here's how they look....

clockwise from the back... BAM2, BAM1 and TD

BAM1 is doing the best, she was very bushy but had height, so I trimmed the crap off the lower branches and bent all her stems out, and supercropped the main stem...

BAM2 is recovering nicely after her midweek mainlining session, having trimmed everything else away, and topped the main stem, I supercropped 6 branches and staked them out perpendicular to the soil, and then topped them 2 days later. Now, the topped stems are leafing out nicely.I will not trim her again if at all possible, as she's had enough stress.

Finally Think Different.... she's not a big girl but she's bushy  .... very small internode distances on the main stem. I have trimmed a few big fan leaves off and lightly bent out her stems....

So that's where we are at the moment. I expect plenty of action this week..... maybe some early flowers.

Finally, with reference to my first post on this thread....

Like a stoned fool, I cocked up the labelling....I blame the Wife, she called me out at a critical moment  , and now I've forgotten which plant is which.... I think I've got it right, but one of the Blue Automazars may be the Think Different....

I reckon BAM1 is the Think Different...... and vice versa.

This is for a number of reasons:
BAM1 is taller
BAM1 has slightly thinner leaves
BAM1 is more sensitive to EC rises.
..... all sativa traits that I would expect from Think Different, Blue Automazar is predominantly Indica.

I dunno.... I'm not gonna change their names just yet, but what do you think?
Thanks for looking in peeps, respect!

Day 42

It's been an interesting week for a number of reasons.... Tropical Storm Marcia has been pissing all over us these past few days with 300mm rain in one night.... we're on a Peppa Pig style hill looking down over flooded sugar cane fields, and cows knee deep in water.
flooding.JPG

Winds have been so strong, any outdoor grows would have been ripped up.
Indoors, however, we have been fighting back the wildlife..... so many dead Huntsmen. :o We've been pumping up the bassline to keep the snakes away

The grow has progressed as expected.... they are still being hand fed EC1.5, 4 times a day, and they have switched from 24/0 to 20/4 LED lighting..... 2x Helios Pro 2's and 1x Helios 6.
day 42 group 1.JPG

BAM1 (or is she TD?) is flowering, and taking up a fair bit of space. The mild supercropping has paid off and she is very happy.
day 42 BAM1.JPG
BAM1 from above, showing plenty of flowering sites. I might supercrop her again to even out her canopy. TD behind.

day 42 group.JPG
BAM1 in the foreground and TD behind

BAM2 has recovered from the mainlining and is vegging out very healthily
day 42 BAM2.JPG

.... no sign of any insect activity either, so the surgery did the trick. I found these tiny microscopic creamy white bugs on the infected leaves, Shiva alone knows what they were

TD is vegging nicely, she gets these massive fan leaves, as you can see below.... but underneath, there are loads of new stems trying to push through..... I may have to do some guilty trimming tonight.
day 42 TD.JPG
TD from above and BAM2 to the rear

I'm expecting more in the flowering department from BAM1 this week, and some stretching from TD and BAM2.... I will keep you posted!

Respect,
:grin:::::

Last night, while sorting out my supplies, I came across a jar of extremely hashy Chronic Ryder buds.... cured for 6-7 weeks...... oh so strong..... then I went into the tent and started trimming and LST'ing my Girls.....

BAM2 needed a little bending out of her stems to let each one reach for the sky.... no problems there.....

TD took a little light trimming, mainly big fan leaves, then a little bending out, to spread her open a bit

BAM1 had a bit of side branch bending out, then I thought I'd bend her main stem a bit, and SNAP :o ..... 85% broken through  , so I immediately repositionned the stem and got some cable ties and thin plastic sticks out....

day 43 BAM1-2.JPG

after 5 mins the leaves on the broken section have wilted...... :(

Still, there's always a silver lining, she's only just started flowering, so this can only increase yield as I have pretty much topped her

this morning, all looked good, the wilting was gone, and she was getting on with business.....

take a look....

day 43 BAM1-3.JPG
she seems OK at the tip of her cola....

day 43 BAM1-4.JPG
the damage is high enough not to be too much of a worry......

day 43 BAM1-5.JPG
... and she seems to be healthy....

but it's only been about 12 hours......

cheers mate..... about a year ago, I was smoking some of the best Dutch Passion buds I had ever got my hands on, no choking up my guts, nice clean stone....... I wanted to grow buds like that, so I stayed faithful (just....) to my trusty Helios LEDs, and learned from the Pros on this unbelievably underrated site!
