I'm willing to bet the smaller leaves are due to the CO2. They don't need as much surface area to capture CO2 due to the higher local concentration (note how huge my leaves are in my grow. Some are the size of my head.)

I thought they were bigger because there is higher levels of CO2 so the plant makes bigger leaves to suck it all up with and process it along with more nutes and light. ie she's adapting to her environment.

The reason I say this is because the big leaves are nearer the CO2 tube than the thinner leaves.

You know best though, as you can tell I generally blunder my way through things, not having much of a clue!!!

Day 106
Day 35 Flowering

Hi everyone,

So, yesterday it was 3 days since the last res change... 4 days till the next. As (the H&G product) Top Booster needs 4 days to have the deisred effect, and about 15L water has been used, it's time for a top up and add the Top Booster. EC had dropped from 1.3 on day 103 to 1.1, so they're feeding, and could possibly take an increase in EC.

Top Booster is essentially PK 13-14 with added Iron (Eddha Fe) to aid absorption and help the leaves stay green.

It stimulates rapid fruit and flower formation by providing the plants with a large amount of phosphorus and potassium over a period of 3 to 4 days.
Phosphorous and Potassium are important building blocks for the plant.

Phosphorous is needed for the root formation and influences the respiration and photosynthesis within the plant. It also plays a massive part in the flowering and ripening process.
Potassium is needed for the absorption and transport of nutrients in the plant. It also has a beneficial effect on the ripening process.

After adding 1/3ml/L Cal Mag to buffer 15L RO water, I added 22.5ml A&B to make an EC of 1.2 then 55ml Top Booster (recommended dose was 1ml/L - so I added slightly less). In it all went, and the reservoir EC went to 1.4 (an 0.1 rise from the last res change).

That was yesterday, this afternoon, at lights on, I immediately checked them out, and all seemed well.

At the next res change, I will reduce the Base nutrients to EC1.1 and add the final H&G product, Top Shooter.

Top Shooter is the liquid version of Shooting Powder (PK 20-9), it forces a new stage of growth when the girls are almost ready to be cropped. Some other flowering stimulators will add density to buds but taste and aroma will be compromised. By adding a new layer of growth to each flower, House & Garden Top Shooter ensures a better end result without compromising the quality of buds. If the plants have all the optimum conditions of heat, light and CO2, this product will form another set of flowers over the existing flowers, forming nice fat, dense buds!

I will use this for the last 3 weeks, with a 24 hour flush between each weekly reservoir change, followed by standard pre=harvest flushing before the chop.

I'm thinking of using pineapple juice for pH down in my final flush.... I had some really zingy Lemon Haze recently which I know from reading AB's threads can be flushed with Lemon juice. Although Pineapple doesn't have as low a pH (pH 3.2-3.6) as lemon juice (pH 2.0-2.6), it should have some sort of positive taste effect on the final product?

With any luck, the Top Booster will be the cannabis equivalent of a top Hollywood Cosmetic Surgeon, and together with the Top Shooter should swell those babies up big time!

More soon, thanks for following my grow!

Yup, that's the technique to use if you want more light to your buds, leaf tucking.
Looking good tho bro, they'll suddenly pack right out, i've grown this strain myself and it is lovely mate, like smoking 'fruit salad' sweets.
Doesn't take long for the taste to appear after correct drying & curing, I got mine tasty after 4 days in a brown bag then a week in the jar.

What puzzles me tho is the strain, its crossed between 'Barneys famous pineapple and skunk #1 x cheese, this is the puzzling thing,
I always thought that Cheese is strained from Skunk #1 aswell, (cross between Skunk #1 and Afghan Kush = UK Cheese)
Well, Luton Cheese as it was called 'back then' & I thought that was the first cheese invented just after Skunk came out, the first cheese ever.

I've got it on my forum, I grew little ones a few years back under the Helios 450w. Proper Luton Cheese #1 Cutting from a Afghan x Skunk #1 mother plant.
My member CheesePro is part of the original breeders team and he says the same.
Loads of cheese everywhere but it all comes from here, otherwise it just aint cheese!

Back in the day (showing my age now) when it was 'invented' ,,they had it at 28% THC & 'The Dam' freaked out about it being too strong etc... they still think its too strong to this day and even class it as dangerous as opium or cocaine!

I just think its a shame that the original cheese breeders are still not being recognised and are still keeping it underground.
When they would make excellent breeders who could offer so many variations of the UK cheese to the market but wont because of prejudice against their strain being 'too strong'

It will always be 'UK' cheese and that's what everyone tokes here 'Cheese cheese cheese' Boring if you ask me but that's them eh?

Anyhoo. Bet they smell lovely mate, you got a right treat coming your way!

Cheers AO, they're smelling lovely already, and my fingers are nice and tacky after just brushing against them!

The amount of times I've scored, and the geezer goes "no really, this is real cheese" I don't think I've ever actually sampled he real McCoy :::

I haven't looked into them much but UGORG seeds are getting a good rep, what have you heard?

I tried a bit of leaf tucking, but there's so much buddage in the undergrowth, I'm having to be careful not to obscure them even more. Tight space for my big old clumsy hands!

ATB and cheers for your input.

Your welcome Bro!

& Aint that the truth, if they dont know what it is, its cheese,

Ohhh i can tell cheese from a mile away, its got a very unique cat piss smell to it after a while. Especially when its flowerin, OMG it stinks, my two little ones left my grow area smelling like i was a old hag cat keeper with 100 cats pissing all over the place!

yeah heard of UGORG, specialized mate, UK clones only etc... never actually bought anything from them tho, not pure cheese'ists either, got, Exodus Cheese cross an that's it.
There's so many variations out there now, clones and cuttings were spread far a-field.

Yeah, I agree, leaf tucking is difficult, i normally give up half way through, those buds that are still under shade will find a way through mate anyway.
Dont worry about it tho dude, you're doing fine.

Day 110
Day 39 Flowering

Hey Guys,

Just a quick update...

3 weeks left now, and it's all looking great.

DSC_0014.JPG
general view

DSC_0015.JPG
lots of buds popping up

I did a reservoir change last night, using RO water buffered with 18ml Cal-Mag, adding A&B - dropping the EC of my base nutrients from 1.4 to 1.1 to allow for the POWER of the flowering booster, Top Shooter.
I added the usual 6ml Drip Clean, plus 5ml Roots Eccellurator and 45ml Multizen (both to keep the root zone healthy and guard against root rot etc, plus there's a bit of silicone and some enzymes in there as well.
Into the mix, I threw in 60ml Carboload, 55ml Bud XL, and finally, 5.5ml Top Shooter.

The recommended dose of Top Shooter is actually 7.5ml but I will add 2ml extra in 2 days at the top up if all is well.

That brought the EC to 1.2. I am supposed to run this for a week, then flush (I dunno for how long - I'm gonna do 24 hours uness someone says otherwise) then run the nutrients again with 15ml Top Shooter again for 2 weeks with a flush in between, after a week, and again but for longer - maybe a week to 10 days - at the end.

I had a look this morning, and all seemed fine. Here's some pics...

It's all zooming past pretty quickly now, and I expect things to really fill out... it's pretty crowded in there at the moment, so I will have to be careful keeping the humidity down. I have 4 internal fans working hard for me, and a few trays of Calcium Chloride crystals lying on the top of the tub under the canopy.... they're pulling a surprising amount of water out, and real cheap too!!!

Thanks for following my thread, more soon. Please feel free to add advice :-P
