i always use canna coco or biobizz coco.
i never wash and it work ok for me. i don't what most people say.
they always complicate growing. this is a weed plant.
farmers in India and Pakistan find it hard to kill this weed.
good feed, temperature, humidity, lights and TLC is all they need.
LOL. not being rude my bros, just saying only.
i really feel loads growers over think growing,
i am bit old school. LOL

I reckon the Canna Plus Coco is good stuff, but for sure there are other brands that need pre-treatment. The ony thing I notice is the light green flashes in the 1st 2 weeks.

No worries, what mean by slow start is. As you dont have an ec or ph meter. And havent used one ever LB ??........... you would not know that at the start of a grow with canna pro plus. As with all cocco grows. Inevitably it has a high calcium holding capacity.

When the cocco medium from new is ph 7 or above. When you 1st start feeding as you say you feed 6.3 'Allway's"....... that acidic feed "Liberates" calcium in the medium "IN The Early" days of feeding. The high Ph of the new cocco calcium liberation. For the teenage dame, will "Slo Somatic" growth untill later when the medium Ph falls due to repeated acidic feed washing it down to our 6.3-6.5 target for best assimilation of nutrients bro.....

This is the trouble with holistic & intuitive visual growing husbandry. it's all guess work after the event. Where as science tells you whats going on, before it happens, if you can read the plants early feed back signage !! Do the checking chemical brother style, and react before the problems get right embedded. if i had not spotted the very faint green fainting in the lower leaves early N or mag def. i would have never investigated the issue.

It turns out all cocco's have the issue at the start when it is new to water and acidic feeds. calcium liberation due to acidic feed washed...... an inherant problem with the medium when new bro....

But when you get past that initial alkaline window in the medium. There aint a lot to beat it......if anything it dries out to fast !! but that lets lots of oxygen back in quick hence higher yields end off...

how to prevent the alkaline window at the start is my next problem !! as it denies nutes to young plants due to ph above 7 at the start of growing in new cocco........ canna pro has the lowest start alkalinity of them all i suspect........ but it aint 6.5 when you start with new at all LB mate....... AB

This is why me and tee in the same canna pro you use (With Variants) and the Dame we use/used, shows 'Green fainting" in the young dames early on in veg. I fact from the get go the ph is up LB in cocco..... as my chemistry test on it showed clearly. get some "new" canna and a Ph meter and see for yourself. The canna washes down to the right ph post day 15-20-30 ?/........... then they are out of the alkaline starting range of the canna pro........... not so with other higher calcium holding cocco's like "Ugro"

Unless you are re using pre washed (Ph Downed) or pre used cocco that has been washed down allready to a good starting ph LB. You will have a slow start from day one to day twenty. i you are going straight in with new, then your starting ph will be up bro.... AB

The new light looks good LB...... single sulfur diode pad 400w ??...... like the multi spectrum pad in helios but 400w single diode pad LB ??....... large power pad "NO Fan" cooling ?/ cant see one. So no fan 400w single diode unit..... what do it consumes 200w juice LB ??...... looks like a giant 189 21 pod in one unit nice........

For a test grow should you have only these and in other tent the 189 at same output value for comparison of grow power ?? side by side in separate tents all same age germ etc same strain comparative grow under two different lights etc... ??.... how will you know it is better or not as good as the ultimate 189 bro ??........AB

As an adendum;

solution to starting Ph in cocco being to alkaline.

pre wash new cocco with acidic solution. leaves a high calcium content washing solution left over, as the nasty high calcium holding capacity lets go it's salts by acidic wash down.
This solution, might not be wasted, ie that it could be used as a res buffer or add mag and you have a cal/mag additive. What i didant say was the "Ec" of the early cocco flush run off's i did where up in the 3.5 range 3000ppm !! due to calcium being a 'Strongly Alkaline" SALT !!! the Ec was skyrocket up there !!! AB
