Thought i would check in and give an update, hope all is good.
The Skyline 600 mk2 has arrived safe and sound and is working its magic!
Came packaged really secure and tight with a lot of foam in the box for protection. It’s a lot heavier than the
400 but personally really love the design of these, so solid yet slim ideal for my small space.

The heatsinks do it for me like I’ve said before they work really well.

… Quick word of advice, i got a bit excited and switched it on whilst looking directly at it… Wont be doing that again.
My vision was screwed for about 10 minutes.

So here we are, the 5 ladies at day 8/9.
The first three that sprouted, are at the back, they are on day 9. Lets call these 1/2/3

The one on the front right is the one that was last to drop its husk, this is on day 8. Lets call this 4

The growth isn’t as aggressive as the others but i think it’s still acceptable at this stage.
And for number 5… well… *ahem*… you can see she has unfortunately the slowest growth of the lot. She
started strong but her leaves seem distorted and the new growth coming through is also very wispy. I have
hope for her yet though so we will see what happens. Worst comes to worst I will just use the space for 4 ladies
this time.

On day three for all of them, still under the 400, i stopped spraying and started watering lightly with about 200ml
of tap water each without adding anything to it. The pots had started drying out rapidly, the temps being stable
between 22.5 and 24 degrees / RH 55 - 65 %. Im topping up the humidifier daily with regular tap water.
As they have grown i have gradually increased the amount of water and they are now happy with 350/400ml
each every 24/36 hours depending on size. Number 5 is still drinking 250ml, less often than the rest as the
soil is staying wetter for longer.
I changed a couple things inside the tent on day 7 as the 600w went in for the 400w. I put this at 18" from the top of the
canopy where it will stay for a little while.
I decided to move the humidifier to the other side of the tent for better use of space and elevated it from ground
level as this is the most efficient place for it to work. It will stay here until the canopy exceeds it.

I’ve also added another clip fan on the same side, that is constantly on a low setting giving a really light breeze across the
canopy to promote some hardy stem development and provide a fresh flow of air.

Adding the 600w only increased canopy temp by about 0.8 degrees, which is nominal so i didn’t have to mess
with fan speeds etc which was nice. To be fair it has been pretty smooth sailing upto now.

To summarise the key things i have learnt:
- be mindful of plant size when feeding, each is different.
- don’t look directly at a skyline led, that shit hurts
- allow water to rest at room temp before watering so roots aren't shocked

It's easier to fix an underfed plant than an over fed, stressed out old girl.
You''ll soon see burned tips or pale leaves and that will be your best indicator of how much feed you give, rather than sticking to a table of 'recommended' EC levels.
Make your own spreadsheet and record everything, so you can tweak things for future grows and have your own, personalised feeding schedule.
Where
you are gonna find EC measurement useful, is with your run off. Checking the run off EC will help you diagnose any problems you may encounter down the line.
As you're using the same nutes and boosters as Ledbud, you will be in great hands.
It sounds like you're using the right kind of boosters and stimulators.
ledbud wrote:I use canna terra vega in veg till they start flowering then i mix vega and flora till vertical growth stop.
then i use flora and big bud Advanced Nutrients.
3 week from harvest i start overdrive Advanced Nutrients and canna flora for 2 weeks then just water for 1 week.
I would go with all of that.... blending vega and flora in early bloom will keep the Nitrogen going in as they build the structure for the fat buds you're gonna get!
I also agree with the Overdrive usage in the final 3 weeks (I use H&G Top Shooter - does the same job), BUT the week before you do that (ie around day 50 - week 8) give the PK 13/14 for 3-4 days.
I give the PK13/14 at the recommended H&G amount of 1ml/L, (but witth your Canna version you'll have to check)
but you MUST reduce the base nutrient amount to keep the final EC of the feed at the same level - or just slightly lower than normal.... another reason to record your EC's.... so you can make sure you don't burn them.
A lot of growers on the big sites dont recommend PK but that's because they always forget to keep the EC of the feed in check.
Rhizotonic - well, I use H&G Roots Excellurator (at their recommended full strength of 0.3ml/L) and they advise using it throughout the grow, EXCEPT when using PK 13/14.
I am not sure about Rhizotonic, it might be only for veg and not in bloom at all, so you'll have to check their recommendations..... it will be the same for Autos and Photos, whatever they say.
Have you thought about an Enzyme? - useful for keeping the rootzone healthy, cleaning up dead roots etc and converting them to uptakeable nutrient etc. I use H&G Multizyme throughout the grow from about day 14 at full strength (1ml/L).
All the best mate, sounds like you have a plan!
Thanks mate, your advice is priceless. Thank you for helping me with timings along with ledbud as timings was what
was confusing me with them being autos.
I am not feeding until week 3 so I am going to leave checking run off EC until that has started. I’m just going to wing it
until then and just pay attention to the plants and how they look. I figure the nutrients in the bat mix are more than
sufficient in this stage… My main concern was burning them as seedlings with such a rich soil.
I will take your advice and just tailor the feeding to suit looking out where i can and tweaking it as needed, i will
start with low amount of nutes and gradually increase, and control it that way so i don’t go over what they need.
I will get a spreadsheet sorted soon to thats a great idea mate, I’m just jotting it down at the moment.
As for roots, i was looking at voodoo juice by advanced nutrients, but i will definitely check out Roots excellurator by H&G to.
I will also check out the enzyme you suggested to.
Just want to say thanks again to TeeTee and ledbud your knowledge is awesome and invaluable.
Ive got a bit of time before feeding begins so i will have a look at the feed schedule again, tweak/add where necessary and keep
you guys posted.
But for now, take it easy people!!
